The film follows Louis Balestra Di Nolfi, a spirited New Yorker who has faced two life-threatening diagnoses — Stage 4 non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and kidney failure. Through intimate storytelling, vérité footage, and Super 8 textures, Renegade explores illness, resilience, and the quiet power of human connection.
Narrated by Lou’s longtime friend and the film’s director, Renegade reflects on the meaning of survival, chosen family, and the beauty of second chances.
After completing its principal photography in 2024, the film is now in the final stages of editing, sound design, and music licensing. A 2025 premiere is planned, accompanied by a social impact campaign focused on organ donation awareness and kidney health education.
